Chapter 12: Crown of Life
The journey of Black hair is the hero’s journey, a testament to resilience, beauty, and an unbreakable connection to the divine. It is a journey from the “crown of thorns”—the pain, the ridicule, the suffering—to the Crown of Life `[1]`, a crown promised to those who endure, to those who remain faithful to their true selves.
This connection to the fundamental elements of the cosmos is not merely symbolic; it is deeply spiritual. The coiled hair, often ridiculed as “nappy” or “woolly,” is a direct link to ancient wisdom. The Buddha, revered across cultures for his enlightenment, is consistently depicted with tightly coiled hair, often referred to as “snail-shell curls.” These are not snails; they are the visual representation of the same granular, coiled texture seen on the surface of the sun, a celestial body that radiates life and energy. This phenotypical imagery, undeniable and consistent across ancient cultures, affirms the original, primordial Blackness of the gods and divine figures across the globe. The gods of all cultures were originally depicted as Black, reflecting the source of life and light.
This is the ultimate awakening: to recognize that the very features that have been demonized are, in fact, divine. To understand that the “crown of thorns” was not a curse, but a veiled prophecy of your inherent royalty is indeed a divine revelation.. To know that your hair is not a burden, but a biological marvel, a spiritual antenna, and a direct connection to the cosmic source is true awakening.
This knowledge is your freedom. To ‘know’ is the power to say ‘no’, do you see?. It is the power to say “no” to the brainwashed and whitewashed narrative. It is the power to reclaim your image, your history, and your destiny. It is the power to embrace the sun cycle, the organic carbon, the very essence of your being, and to wear your crown not just as a symbol, but as a living, breathing testament to your divine inheritance.
What they called difficult was simply different. What they labeled as unmanageable was actually uncompromising—hair that knows its own nature and refuses to pretend otherwise. You have spent years learning to see yourself through eyes that were never meant to understand your beauty. But the truth is simpler than all the products they sold you, all the treatments they promised, all the standards they set. Your hair grows exactly as it should. It is unique on this planet
